  • Skincare Guru Reveals Her Expert Secrets for Perfect Skin

Whether you're a skincare novice or enthusiast, choosing the right products for your skin can be difficult, and trying to achieve the 'perfect skin' can feel like a never-ending task. But, with spring blooming, and the UV Index rising, making sure you are SPF protected, hydrated, and prevent ageing, should be a priority. So, our Beauty writer, Alice Bradley, sat down to chat with skincare expert Kotryna Bajorinaite, also known as ‘Esti-Bestie’, to get her top tips for spring. Starting in the aesthetic industry over 10 years ago, Kotryna has worked with the UKs leading doctors and nurses in the aesthetic field. Now with her own clinic in West Sussex, Kotryna delivers excellent results to her clients, working with high-performance, results driven products and treatments. Kotryna has developed an aesthetics business that caters to every skin concern and with a hands-on approach to science-first skincare, ensures her clients get the most from their treatments. What does good skin mean to you? “Good skin means radiating from the inside out. I believe that good skin starts from within and that a well considered, but basic routine paired with in-clinic treatments is the key to long lasting youthful looking skin.” How can someone set themselves up with a good skincare routine? “Depending on skin concerns and goals, I believe establishing a good cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising and protecting routine speaks volumes. If you have a basic routine down, the rest will just amplify your results. This is when you can start to add serums, pigment inhibitors and masks into your routine. If you haven’t nailed your foundations, all of that can impair your barrier, so it’s important to get the basics right first.” Let’s talk about spring trends and spring skincare. What are you noticing that is popular this year? “I don’t actually run my business following trends because they often die out and it is often not what the skin needs and wants. I love the fact everyone is finally moving towards looking after the skin barrier. My rule for this is; if you exfoliate it, you need to hydrate it. There has been a popular trend recently to use exfoliating toners like Paula's Choice. I found I saw a lot of people were overusing them and ended up damaging their barrier function.” How can clients achieve 'perfect skin' at home? “I always say at home skincare is 80% of the end goal. I don’t treat in-clinic unless the patient has established a routine at home. It doesn’t need to be crazy, but for me to assess and treat their skin once a month, it does not equate to the clients’ dream skin. The skin loves consistency, so you have to give it the goods at home too.” What products should people invest in for spring? “As we come into the sunnier months, it has to be SPF! Pigmentation rears its ugly head around this time of year and it's really difficult to get rid of. My go to combination is the Heliocare Oil Free paired with the Skin Better Even Tone Correcting Serum to prevent the pigment from coming to the surface. When it comes to your routine at home, swap out the thicker, more nourishing moisturisers to something more lightweight, to avoid clogging up your pores.” To Book a free consultation or treatment with Kotryna Bajorinaite, head to CosMed Aesthetic.

Skilfully restored preserving the integrity of the original complex, Monastero Santa Rosa now offers 20 rooms and suites all with sea views, an excellent starred restaurant - Il Refettorio - a charming spa and an open-air fitness centre equipped with the latest Technogym machines. Known as a favourite destination for many celebrities, from F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway to Pablo Picasso and Elizabeth Taylor, Sofia Richie recently got married at the hotel. The scenic heated infinity pool, with its breathtaking views, is undoubtedly among the most emblematic and iconic on the French Riviera. The saltwater pool offers idyllic views of the Côte d'Azur, to be contemplated lying on comfortable loungers, drink in hand, as in one of Slim Aarons' timeless pictures. Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como On 1 April, the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como reopened its doors, ushering in a season full of novelties, with a new restaurant, a revamped spa and a new floating infinity pool. Set in a lush botanical park on the eastern shore of Lake Como, the resort comprises nine separate villas, including the majestic Villa Roccabruna. Among this year's novelties is the new 40-metre floating infinity pool - one of the largest of its kind in the world - designed by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron. Finished in the local dark-coloured Cardoso stone, it creates a unique optical effect that gives the water a colour very similar to that of the lake. The structure's shiny dark green exterior reflects the surface of the water in its movements and adds to the infinity effect. Hermetically sealed and shaped like a catamaran to reduce the impact of waves, the pool is invisibly fixed to the bottom of the lake and connected by a ramp to the new NAMI Cafe, ideal for a light snack. The solarium is clad in wood, as are the vaulted ceiling and the floor of the new restaurant, a material chosen because it recalls the finish of boats typical of Lake Como. One of the largest saltwater pools in Europe, its crystal-clear depth are heated naturally by the brilliant Sardinian sun.

  • Tried and Tested: Our Favourite Luxury SPF's for 2024

Spring is here and the UV index is rising, and we are here to tell you to NEVER skip suncream in your daily routine. Yes, you can get sun damage when it is cloudy and raining in winter. But now that the sun is shining again and things are starting to heat up, making sure you're applying SPF every single day (and topping up every few hours) is more important than ever. According to Cancer Research UK every year around 16,744 new melanoma cases are recorded in the UK, so we decided to trial several luxury sunscreens, to see which one we loved most. Often, finding the perfect suncream can be a frustrating task - too oily, too sticky, and too perfumed (trust us, we went through a lot of sunscreen over the past few weeks). But, these three sunscreens are The Life of Luxury approved. 1. EviDenS - The Total Shield SPF 50 PA++++ Enriched with a triple collagen complex and powerful antioxidants, this is a sunscreen that offers the ultimate skin defence. It forms a clear, matte shield that doesn’t show under skincare and feels luxuriously lightweight under your make-up. Providing full spectrum protection against UV rays, pollution, blue light, and environmental aggressors, it’s a sure investment for preserving skin’s youth. Fast Facts Price: £140 Best for: Full Coverage/Collagen SPF Rating: 5/5 What We Love: UVA and UVB protection, Collagen, Water Resistant What We Would Improve: Cost is on the pricier end Our thoughts... This EviDenS Total Shield SPF may be expensive, but in our opinion, it is a staple. Whilst it is commonly known that using SPF can help prevent ageing, this EviDenS SPF goes the step further. By adding in triple collagen, La Foux Spring Water, Vitamin E and Polygonum Aviculare extract, EviDenS have produced the superhero of SPFs. Smooth, water-resistant and non-greasy, it melts into the skin, and leaves no tacky residue. It can be applied with skincare, or underneath makeup, without separating any of your makeup base throughout the day. 2. Ultra Violette - QUEEN SCREEN SPF 50+ LUMINISING SKINSCREEN Ultra Violette, already an SPF favourite from last year, have just launched a new supercharged product, the Queen Screen SPF 50+ Luminising Skinscreen. Brimming with innovative new skincare actives and UV filters, the silky serum is brilliant for luminous, hydrated and protected skin. Simply slip 3 pipettes over your skin for a velvety-soft, radiant finish with an ultra-indulgent rose scent. Fast Facts Price: £38 Best for: Dewy glow/Application Under Makeup Rating: 4/5 What We Love: Dewy Glow, Great Under Makeup, Rose Scent What We Would Improve: A Lot Of Product Is Needed Our thoughts... With its bestselling Queen Screen SPF50+ being in our 2023 favourites, we were excited to try this upgraded formula. Silky smooth and super hydrating, this sunscreen feels more like a serum than the traditional SPF consistency. We love that it has been packed with brightening, hydrating and antioxidant-rich ingredients, like; IBR-Solage (Pink Algae Extract) to smooth and reduce pigmentation, Superox-C™ to brighten the skin and improve tone for an undeniably royal glow. Plus, your daily dose of Vitamins B5, E and F. It applies perfectly under makeup, and acts like a dewy primer. However, the recommended usage is 3 pipettes worth each day, which feels like a lot of product. 3. Omorovicza - Mineral UV Shield SPF30 Rich with antioxidants and the protective power of zinc and titanium dioxide, Omorovicza's Mineral UV Shield SPF 30 provides a weightless buffer against the sun that never irritates or clogs the pores. Imperfections appear blurred while the skin is cushioned from damage and pollution thanks to the addition of vitamin C and sodium hyaluronate. Fast Facts Price: £82 Best for: Matte Finish/Pore Blurring Rating: 4/5 What We Love: Perfect for Sensitive Skin, Skin Smooting, Weightless What We Would Improve: SPF to 50+ Our thoughts... Made from minerals, including zinc and titanium dioxide, this natural sunscreen forms a physical barrier to help reflect UVA and UVB rays, unlike traditional chemical SPF's. This sun cream does not block pores, therefore reducing the risk of any irritation, which was perfect for our sensitive skin. The consistency is thin and silky, and a little goes a long way. The silica spheres in this product helps to smooth the skin and reduces the appearance of lines and imperfections. Whilst we do love a dewy finish, we surprisingly loved this matte finish. Despite it having a matte finish, the product is hydrating and can be used as a primer underneath makeup too. Our only negative is that this is only an SPF 30, and we would prefer to have SPF 50 on our face.

  • Spring into Style: Top Haircut Trends for Women in 2024

With the arrival of spring, many feel the urge to update their hairstyle – it is the perfect time for a fresh start and a new haircut. If you're ready for an update, there are many exciting haircut trends to choose from this season. Whether you prefer a subtle change or a bold transformation, there's a hairstyle to suit your taste. From short and edgy to long and romantic, we've compiled a list of the best haircut trends to consider for the coming months. Remember that this is a time for self-expression, so don't be afraid to be creative and show your individuality. Blunt Bob with Bangs As we’ve seen, bobs are staying put, especially when it has a chicer and Italian style. Think heavy, rounded and with plenty of volume. The Italian bob has a touch of glamour infused to it, with a polished finish. Inspired by the iconic Sophia Loren and recreated countless times, this year’s classic haircut trend has a youthful and softer finish that is more romantic. Also referred to as a ‘baroque bob’, the chin-length bob can be super versatile to suit any face shape. Truly a look to consider and try out this year. Consider styling this cut with loose waves to create an effortlessly elegant look that exudes relaxed charm. The Pixie The shorter the better this year, and for those craving a daring change, the pixies have been making a creeping comeback. In 2024, this hairstyle is looking more modern, fresh and feminine — take a look at Taylor Hill’s version for inspiration — for an elevated chicness. With a rounded and textured look rather than the typical razored style, this charming pixie is well-cut but still promises low-maintenance weight, softness and length throughout to let you play around with various styles. Textured Layers This trend welcomes you to embrace some ‘Rachel-esque’ face framing and feathered layers. This texture haircut has been continuously popular and will only increase its impact this year as it looks incredibly flattering. Regardless of your hair length or silhouette, this haircut concept will help your hair look fuller and feel much healthier. This hairstyle will also be a great option if you’re hoping to keep your length while adding volume and bounce — it’ll infuse your look with an effortlessly chic vibe. The Modern Midi Offering the best of both worlds, this haircut is short enough to feel fresh but still long enough to give you versatility. Stylish and making a comeback since it works well with the textured layers —  think about the wolf cut and the 90’s Rachel — this year's trend is much more refined and polished. The sophisticated cut has subtle layering that adds an effortless and versatile vibe, promising to keep the look simple while still looking healthy and clean. Fringes Perhaps the easiest way to update your hairstyle, a fringe continues to be a major trend in 2024. The classic Birkin fringe remains a favourite for many and is perhaps one of the most copied looks ever. Nonchalant and effortless, the heavy and soft-feathered edge cut will add a touch of romanticism to your look. Another type of fringe stealing the spotlight are baby bangs, which sees the length cut above the brow-line, making it a more daring style to achieve but look exceptional when done correctly. Longer Layers with Bangs If you're not quite ready to part with your long locks, consider adding some layers and curtain bangs for a fresh update. Long layers add dimension and movement to your hair, while curtain bangs frame the face beautifully without the commitment of full bangs, and as previously mentioned, a fringe is a top trend to take part in this year. This versatile style can be worn straight and sleek or with beachy waves for a more relaxed look, making it perfect for spring and summertime adventures. Must-have accessories We simply can’t write an article about best hairstyle trends without mentioning the top accessory of the season: hair bows. Insanely popular, hair bows are big in the hair department, both in size and influence. Attracting attention last year, the trend took off and hasn’t slowed down and we understand why as the accessory adds a touch of whimsical charm. Instantly capable of levelling-up any ordinary outfit with a touch of added interest, the hair bow can be wrapped around ponytails, buns, braids and — our personal favourite — clipped in half updos. In 2024, expressing your individuality through your hairstyle is truly the latest trend. Whether you prefer a daring pixie cut or a subtle change to your long hair, there's a hairstyle that will suit your style, face shape, and personality. Why not step out of your comfort zone and try something new? Remember, life is too short to have dull hair.

  • Review: Cooking Class at Pikes Hotel, Ibiza

Credit: Pikes Restaurant The white isle of Ibiza has been capturing the attention of travellers for decades, and it’s clear to see why. From its captivating beaches, crystal clear waters and traditional picture-perfect houses to the UNESCO heritage sites and welcoming spirit of its people, Ibiza has something that attracts travellers time and time again . Throughout my time visiting the island, it has become glaringly obvious that health and wellness is a priority amongst many of its communities and has cemented itself as a main focus for the majority of the island’s boutique hotels and restaurants. Such is the case with Pikes Ibiza, which has become a world-renowned hub for wellness, gastronomy, music and much more. Known for its famed celeb sightings — regular guests included Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Grace Jones, and Kate Moss — the boutique hotel has retained its 500-year-old rustic charm and eccentric talking points like whimsical art displays and bizarre illustrations. The Ibizan Institution of Pikes often hosts an array of events, and I was lucky enough to attend one this past autumn where I was able to enjoy an insightful cooking class hosted by one of the hotel’s private chefs, restaurant consultant and food writer Tess Prince, alongside Gemma Phillips-Ogston; a British television chef and the mastermind behind several healthy-eating cookbooks. Nestled into the rolling green hills of the island’s west coast, the culinary pop-up in Pamela’s (Pike's iconic pink restaurant) was a half-day retreat on healthy eating with a special focus on mushrooms — a topic that has been trending within all the health-improvement circles. The workshop also included the participation of mushroom expert and collector Tim Spankie, who offered a seminar on his knowledge about all the amazing fungi growing specifically on the island and the benefits each one can offer. Intrigued by the numerous medicinal properties of mushrooms and hoping to learn how I could improve my immune system by eating more consciously, I went to the event with an open mind and fully ready to get stuck into the class. Starting at 10:30 am and lasting until 3 pm, Prince and Ogston focused on the importance of slowing down and preparing for winter hibernation after summer intensity by using functional plants and mushrooms to heal you from the inside. Having healthy eating habits can instantly improve your mood and well-being, especially through the winter when our bodies and immune systems often feel more sensitive. Perfect for those looking to take control of their health, the event showed me and the other participants the knowledge of how the immune system works, and how simply adapting your diet with new recipes can add a much-needed boost to your daily routine throughout the changing seasons. Hearing the chefs discuss their expansive knowledge and share their delicious recipes using local seasonal products was instantly inspiring as it was exciting to see a merge of both their gastronomic visions. During the class, we enjoyed an array of dishes like cauliflower tacos with ginger salsa, delicious broths and several medicinal tonics that are super nutritious when taken as daily immunity shots. Once the cooking class came to an end, Ogston presented the launch of The Healing Cookbook — her second published book now available online — which is perfect for those looking to learn how to keep well and supercharge the immune system using natural ingredients. The cookbook is all about recovery and healing using plant-based recipes and wellness ideas; since purchasing the book I’ve attempted several of the recipes myself. Filled with simple and easy-to-recreate recipes, it has done wonders for my health and helps me feel instantly better. Before the end of the event, the chefs served a family-style brunch made up of recipes from Ogston’s cookbook — a perfect teaser — using local produce to help promote the ideas made throughout the class and showcase how tasty conscious eating can be. All in all, the event was intimate and special; a truly fantastic opportunity to learn from three experts the simple methods and ways healthy eating can improve not only our mental and physical well-being but our lifestyles overall. The event came just in time to enter the sleepy winter season and I was honoured to attend it at this legendary venue before it closed its doors until April. If you’re reading this and you’re interested in gaining control of your well-being, or maybe even just wish to attend an event filled with like-minded people who are looking to connect and improve their way of thinking and living, then you are sure to find the wellness event for you here in Ibiza.

  • How To Introduce Biophilic Design Into Your Home Decor

When asked to imagine a place where we feel relaxed, have you ever wondered why we typically think of picnicking at the park, sitting on a sunny beach, camping under the stars or even a woodland walk? The reason is simple: most of us feel happier and more at peace when surrounded by nature. This is where the word biophilia derives its meaning from; the desire to commune with the natural world. Biophilic design is an approach that aims primarily at improving our connection to nature by bringing it into our homes and workplaces. By introducing it in our living areas we organically improve our connection to the natural environment. The results? Stress levels are reduced, creativity levels are boosted, and increased productivity, and our mental & physical well-being recuperates. Why it’s an important design concept This design concept has been around since the 70s but it's only been in recent years that it’s seen a popular resurgence as concerns about both our mental health and the environment have crept up to the top of the agenda. Many experts have encouraged the idea that this design trend should be seen more as a universal design ethos, where we take into consideration the various ways we can connect to nature using culture and make the most of the spaces that are important to our day-to-day routines. In Biophilic Design, the focus lies mainly on enhancing well-being and exuding tranquillity. As urbanisation increases daily, stress rates have sky-rocketed — according to studies, 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed that their coping mechanisms have faltered — so it’s vital to transform our homes into a haven where the body and mind can completely switch off from the hustle and bustle of the day and indulge in the relaxing environment. Incorporating it into the home According to Shepley and Bulfinch and research from Dr. Stephen R. Keller, six principles must be considered and applied when working with Biophilic Design: 1. Environmental features This principle consists of incorporating basic features like plants, images and objects that remind you of nature, earthy tones and allowing sunlight to come through. Including these in the concept, will instantly prompt healing and enhance the mood. Simple touches, make a big difference. 2. Natural shapes and forms By introducing lines and forms that occur in nature, for example, arches, rock shelves, water paths and other naturally occurring shapes, the spirit of the space will provide richness of detail and offer comfort. 3. Restorative patterns and processes According to Dr Stephen Kellert, human evolution has required involvement in an array of natural environments and we respond well to the five senses — sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing — so when done properly, Biophilic Design should offer the opportunity to encapsulate a sensorial variability. 4. Light and space This straightforward principle focuses on the many qualities of light and space, and how the integration of abundant natural light can help merge the inside and outside using elements of warmth to create a stimulating effect that will ultimately spur movement and imagination. 5. Plants No article talking about natural design will go without mentioning the word plants. A simple yet incredibly important element of Biophilic Design, this principle focuses on the idea of introducing greenery, imagery of plants or even an earthy/green colour scheme. This will create an instant relationship between the space and the natural elements you are incorporating. 6. The human-nature relationship: The final principle needed to successfully incorporate Biophilic Design in your home involves recreating the relationship between nature and humans. By doing this, the space you’re working on will focus on different things like complexity, exploration, discovery and inspiration. If you keep this in mind, then you can create an area which will improve your concentration and comfort. Biophilic Design shouldn’t be seen as an expensive option and instead should be considered as a creative exercise to instantly improve your well-being and positive feeling in your home. Ultimately, when redesigning a space in your home using this concept, simply consider these aspects for excellent results: Use of natural materials, patterns and colour scheme Sustainable materials Improve the flow of natural and artificial lighting Internal and external views of nature Acoustic comfort Improve the air quality and ventilation Thermal comfort levels for the right temperature always Organisation of space With the rising importance of sustainable methods and the growing awareness of mental and physical well-being, Biophilic Design is, more than ever, a concept that should be implemented in homes, even if it starts in subtle ways –  you’ll quickly reap the benefits of this design trend.

In 2003, Maria Agnese Spagnuolo opened the first ice cream shop in via Lago di Lesina 9, where she is still based today. Since then, Fatamorgana has begun to spread its imaginative, creative, personality-rich ice cream philosophy in the capital, growing, opening new branches, but with a primary objective: never abandoning craftsmanship. The recipes proposed in rotation are over three hundred and arise from the union and perfect balance of milk, sugar, spices, flowers, fruit, cocoa and cheeses. Tonka, Aprilia Being born into the world of confectionery, breathing in the working rhythms of the workshop, studying and learning from one's parents the secrets of the white art could mark the path in a boy's life, with the aim of carrying on the family business: but this is the story of Valerio Esposito, who had another passion, ice cream. Thus, in 2010, the Tonka ice cream parlour in Aprilia was born, the result of a great act of love and trust by Valerio's parents, Umberto and Anna, who transformed their business to give life to his dream. Glazed, Paris Crafted from the finest seasonal ingredients, these freshly made ice creams are now up for grabs on Boulevard Pasteur. With a focus on exceptional quality, the menu is intentionally concise, offering premium flavors in limited quantities. Throughout the seasons, you can expect a rotation of specialties like organic lemon sorbet with celery leaves and mastiha liqueur, peanut butter ice cream paired with red currant jelly, the lavish Passy-Sèvres featuring hazelnut praline and roasted almonds, adorned with delicate cream puffs filled with homemade salted butter caramel, and the velvety soft ice cream blended with buckwheat honey, caramel, and caramelised kasha. Anita Gelato, London Anita's boutique ice cream started from humble beginnings in a small Mediterranean kitchen nearly 20 years ago, with Mama Anita and her son Nir crafting delicious frozen treats. Nir handled the ice cream base while Mama Anita made addictive jams for flavour. Their success at a local market led to opening their first store. With older brother Adi joining later, the business grew into an international chain with over 160 branches worldwide, including in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and London. Anita's offers a wide range of hand-made ice creams, including frozen yogurt, sorbets, soy-based, and real cream-based options, with over 150 flavours available. Toppings include fresh fruit, syrups, premium chocolate, and Mama Anita's homemade jams. Every flavour still receives Mama Anita's personal approval, ensuring each scoop reflects her heavenly touch. The focus remains on bringing people together for lovingly prepared ice cream, making Anita's a paradise for ice cream lovers worldwide. Tichy, Vienna The secret is the highest quality ingredients, with recipes that have remained unchanged for almost 70 years and are characterised by a unique taste. We are in Tichy, a Vienna institution since 1952. Badiani, Barcelona Badiani, renowned for its artisanal ice cream originating from Florence, has now opened in Barcelona, akin to a Neapolitan pizzeria arriving from Naples. This allows Barcelona locals and visitors to savor their famed ice cream, particularly the iconic Buontalenti, which holds a rich history. Dating back to 1569, architect Bernardo Buontalenti devised this frozen delight for the Spanish King's court, introducing sugar into the cream, an innovative move at the time. Fast forward to the late 1960s, Badiani clinched victory in a gelato competition with their rendition of Buontalenti, crafted with milk, sugar, and eggs. Despite its seemingly simple ingredients, the recipe remains a closely guarded secret, boasting a distinct taste and texture that has garnered global acclaim. Santini, Lisbon Santini, an artisanal ice cream brand with over 60 years of history in the Greater Lisbon area, has mastered the Italian way of making ice cream. F Founded by Italian ex-pat Attilio Santini in 1949, its original parlour in Cascais gained patronage from local high society and even the Spanish royal family in exile. Despite competition, Santini consistently maintains its top position with its all-natural ice creams and sorbets, which are equally beloved at its Lisbon outlet.

  • Review: Huda Beauty's FAUX FILLER Extra Shine Lip Gloss

Last week Huda Beauty founder, Huda Kattan, announced the launch of her revolutionary Faux Filler Extra Shine lipgloss. Promised to give the illusion of having lip filler, without the need for injectables, or getting the tingles like other lip plumpers give, this product is the first of its kind. Available in seven flattering shades, this hydrating gloss is packed with full-coverage pigment, and essentially creates a glass-like shine that beautifully reflects the light, all while nourishing your skin via hydrating actives. Speaking to The Life of Luxury, Huda said: "I love full, volumised, glossy lips, and our FAUX FILLER Extra Shine Lip Gloss is so glossy it's distracting! I've been loving lip cuffing for a while, and this gloss makes the technique extra fire. I use Lip Contour 2.0 in Rich Brown to cuff the outer edges of the lips and blend it out. Then I link it with Warm Brown to line and define the lips and Cupid's bow before setting with our Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, so it lasts all day. Finally, I apply our FAUX FILLER Gloss in the shade 'Glassy' for the poutiest, juiciest lip combo!" Key Ingredients: Vitamin E: This is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from environmental stressors and combats dryness with its hydrating properties. Vegan Collagen: This ingredient helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. But, is it Life of Luxury approved? Below we delve into our review on Faux Filter by Huda Beauty... Fast Facts Price: £18 Best for: Glassy Lips Rating: 4/5 What We Love: Extremely pigmented, No colour transfer when 'double dipping', long-lasting, hydrating What We Would Improve: The range, other than the clear gloss, are all in nude shades Our thoughts... This new Huda Beauty lipgloss truly creates “glass lips” that last. Immediately, we fell in love with how silky-smooth the formula felt, and how with one swipe of the applicator wand, our lips were ready to go! The crystal-clear packaging makes it easy to see exactly what lip colour is in the tube, and offers proof that there is no colour transfer when 'double dipping'. The large doe-foot applicator has a tapered tip that makes it easy to apply a pronounced cupid’s bow and lips’ inner corners. All in all, we can definitely see why these lipglosses have gone viral, especially considering how universally flattering the shades are. The collection includes everything from perfect clear gloss toppers that can complement your current fave lip combo to a dark chocolate shade that especially suits deeper skin tones. So, would we recommend this product? Absolutely! Shop here:

  • Our Skincare Favourites For Spring 2024

As we transition into a new season, naturally our skincare regime needs to adjust. The changing weather and temperatures play an important part in our skin, hair and makeup needs, especially when winter ends and spring arrives, bringing with it warmer days. As we’re soon to enter the glorious and long-awaited springtime, we’ve begun considering which products we’ll be retiring now that winter is becoming a distant memory and which ones we should pick up to update our skincare routine. Considering we use slightly thicker creams in winter for heavily nourishing effects, springtime is all about looking for lighter alternatives that consider sweat and sun damage while continuing to hydrate. We've done a guide into the kind of products we’ll be coveting this spring and think you’d want to try to improve your skincare game. Cleanser: Biome Creamy Jelly Cleanser If you’re a lover of rich, balmy cleaners but regularly find that your skin starts to react and break out during the change of seasons, then it might be time to switch in favour of a lighter cleanser. Consider a lighter cream, lotion or gel formula instead of a balm, as whilst brilliant, balm cleansers can leave a residue on the skin and cause annoying reactions in the aftermath. Our April recommendation is the BYOMA Creamy Jelly Cleanser, as it gently and effectively cleanses your skin from all the nastiness of the day whilst keeping your skin barrier protected. Infused with a tri-ceramide complex combined with antioxidant-rich liquorice root and green tea extract, this cleanser will deeply nourish your skin and leave it with an undeniable glow. Exfoliator: Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Sometimes the skin might seem a little dull, and it's during these times that you may want to consider shaking up your exfoliation routine — or add one if you haven’t started yet! Typically, opting for a chemical-based exfoliator will help remove any dead skin cells without stripping your skin or damaging the surface of it. Start slowly, by using an exfoliator 1 to 2 times a week initially, before slowly building up its use if you think it’s needed. We like the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant as it’s a perfect addition to your skincare armoury. Perfect for blemish-prone, oily or combination skin types, this formula is laced with BHA sakysic acid to remove dead skin cells on the surface and within the pores while its anti-inflammatory properties reduce blemishes for a clearer complexion. Serum: REN Clean Skincare Glow & Protect Serum During springtime, serums are destined to become your best friend. Formulated with a light texture and packed with hydration, serums can easily be layered to your heart’s content. Perfect for the warmer months, serums are a skincare necessity. For this upcoming spring, we think the REN Clean Skincare Glow & Protect Serum is a cocktail of all skin-loving essentials. Formulated with vitamin E for rich nourishment and an array of brightening agents like vitamin C, juicy dragon fruit and natural antioxidant pomegranate, this serum promises radiant results within two weeks of regular use. Moisturiser: LANEIGE Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser No skincare list would be complete without mentioning the importance of moisturiser. With an array of textures and formulas available, it can be tricky to decide which type will work best on your skin. After winter, the changing temperatures can leave your skin feeling drier than usual, so investing in a hydrating moisturiser that has a combination of ingredients to hydrate, draw in moisture and help smooth the skin will be the way to go this spring. The Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser by LANEIGE is a perfect choice for this changing season, as it has a light formula that will deeply hydrate thanks to the star ingredient hyaluronic acid — expect it to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce redness. SPF: The INKEY List SPF30 Sunscreen 100% Mineral UV Filters 50ml Last and foremost, the most important element in the list is SPF. Protecting your skin from the sun's rays is highly important, especially now that the days are becoming sunnier and longer, meaning that you have to consider protecting your skin throughout the upcoming days. Consider a 30-50 factor sunscreen as your final step in your skincare routine and for a a light, non-sticky texture, we think the best option for spring is the INKEY List SPF30 Sunscreen 100% Mineral UV Filters which is vegan, fragrance-free and offers a broad spectrum of UVA and UVB protection. Perfect for all types of skin, this SPF is destined to become a holy grail in your skincare repertoire far beyond springtime.
