Spring is here and the UV index is rising, and we are here to tell you to NEVER skip suncream in your daily routine. Yes, you can get sun damage when it is cloudy and raining in winter.
But now that the sun is shining again and things are starting to heat up, making sure you're applying SPF every single day (and topping up every few hours) is more important than ever.
According to Cancer Research UK every year around 16,744 new melanoma cases are recorded in the UK, so we decided to trial several luxury sunscreens, to see which one we loved most.
Often, finding the perfect suncream can be a frustrating task - too oily, too sticky, and too perfumed (trust us, we went through a lot of sunscreen over the past few weeks). But, these three sunscreens are The Life of Luxury approved.
1. EviDenS - The Total Shield SPF 50 PA++++
Enriched with a triple collagen complex and powerful antioxidants, this is a sunscreen that offers the ultimate skin defence. It forms a clear, matte shield that doesn’t show under skincare and feels luxuriously lightweight under your make-up.
Providing full spectrum protection against UV rays, pollution, blue light, and environmental aggressors, it’s a sure investment for preserving skin’s youth.

Price: £140
Best for: Full Coverage/Collagen SPF
Rating: 5/5
What We Love: UVA and UVB protection, Collagen, Water Resistant
What We Would Improve: Cost is on the pricier end
Our thoughts...
This EviDenS Total Shield SPF may be expensive, but in our opinion, it is a staple.
Whilst it is commonly known that using SPF can help prevent ageing, this EviDenS SPF goes the step further. By adding in triple collagen, La Foux Spring Water, Vitamin E and Polygonum Aviculare extract, EviDenS have produced the superhero of SPFs.
Smooth, water-resistant and non-greasy, it melts into the skin, and leaves no tacky residue. It can be applied with skincare, or underneath makeup, without separating any of your makeup base throughout the day.
2. Ultra Violette - QUEEN SCREEN SPF 50+ LUMINISING SKINSCREEN
Ultra Violette, already an SPF favourite from last year, have just launched a new supercharged product, the Queen Screen SPF 50+ Luminising Skinscreen.
Brimming with innovative new skincare actives and UV filters, the silky serum is brilliant for luminous, hydrated and protected skin. Simply slip 3 pipettes over your skin for a velvety-soft, radiant finish with an ultra-indulgent rose scent.

Price: £38
Best for: Dewy glow/Application Under Makeup
Rating: 4/5
What We Love: Dewy Glow, Great Under Makeup, Rose Scent
What We Would Improve: A Lot Of Product Is Needed
Our thoughts...
With its bestselling Queen Screen SPF50+ being in our 2023 favourites, we were excited to try this upgraded formula.
Silky smooth and super hydrating, this sunscreen feels more like a serum than the traditional SPF consistency.
We love that it has been packed with brightening, hydrating and antioxidant-rich ingredients, like; IBR-Solage (Pink Algae Extract) to smooth and reduce pigmentation, Superox-C™ to brighten the skin and improve tone for an undeniably royal glow. Plus, your daily dose of Vitamins B5, E and F.
It applies perfectly under makeup, and acts like a dewy primer.
However, the recommended usage is 3 pipettes worth each day, which feels like a lot of product.
3. Omorovicza - Mineral UV Shield SPF30
Rich with antioxidants and the protective power of zinc and titanium dioxide, Omorovicza's Mineral UV Shield SPF 30 provides a weightless buffer against the sun that never irritates or clogs the pores. Imperfections appear blurred while the skin is cushioned from damage and pollution thanks to the addition of vitamin C and sodium hyaluronate.

Price: £82
Best for: Matte Finish/Pore Blurring
Rating: 4/5
What We Love: Perfect for Sensitive Skin, Skin Smooting, Weightless
What We Would Improve: SPF to 50+
Our thoughts...
Made from minerals, including zinc and titanium dioxide, this natural sunscreen forms a physical barrier to help reflect UVA and UVB rays, unlike traditional chemical SPF's.
This sun cream does not block pores, therefore reducing the risk of any irritation, which was perfect for our sensitive skin.
The consistency is thin and silky, and a little goes a long way. The silica spheres in this product helps to smooth the skin and reduces the appearance of lines and imperfections.
Whilst we do love a dewy finish, we surprisingly loved this matte finish. Despite it having a matte finish, the product is hydrating and can be used as a primer underneath makeup too.
Our only negative is that this is only an SPF 30, and we would prefer to have SPF 50 on our face.
