Maison Proust, Paris

Maison Proust, Paris POOL

With its sister hotel being voted “Most romantic hotel in the world,” the Maisons Particulières Collection unveiled its new location, Maison Proust, and its swimming pool is one of the best in the world.

So, it comes at no surprise that the hotel spa, La Mer, has partnered with the luxury skincare brand La Mer - the partnership between La Mer and Maison Proust is a natural fit.

The Maison Proust spa required more than a year and thousands of hours of work to come together. One room at a time, the best craftsmen from the palaces of the King of Morocco poured their remarkable expertise to give birth to this architectural gem.

Comprising a ten-metre swimming pool punctuated by elegantly tiled columns, a steam room and three treatment suites, the Maison Proust Spa is poetry for the senses, and the most magical part of Maison Proust.

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Cap d'Antibes, France

Situated on the southernmost tip of Cap d'Antibes, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc - part of the Oetker Collection - has been the setting for memorable glamorous evenings for more than 150 years.

Known as a favourite destination for many celebrities, from F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway to Pablo Picasso and Elizabeth Taylor, Sofia Richie recently got married at the hotel.

The scenic heated infinity pool, with its breathtaking views, is undoubtedly among the most emblematic and iconic on the French Riviera. It was the hotelier and then owner of the hotel, Antoine Sella, who in 1914 wanted a pool built into the basalt rock, overlooking the sea.

The saltwater pool offers idyllic views of the Côte d'Azur, to be contemplated lying on comfortable loungers, drink in hand, as in one of Slim Aarons' timeless pictures.

Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como

Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como

On 1 April, the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como reopened its doors, ushering in a season full of novelties, with a new restaurant, a revamped spa and a new floating infinity pool.

Set in a lush botanical park on the eastern shore of Lake Como, the resort comprises nine separate villas, including the majestic Villa Roccabruna. Among this year's novelties is the new 40-metre floating infinity pool - one of the largest of its kind in the world - designed by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron.

Finished in the local dark-coloured Cardoso stone, it creates a unique optical effect that gives the water a colour very similar to that of the lake. The structure's shiny dark green exterior reflects the surface of the water in its movements and adds to the infinity effect.

Hermetically sealed and shaped like a catamaran to reduce the impact of waves, the pool is invisibly fixed to the bottom of the lake and connected by a ramp to the new NAMI Cafe, ideal for a light snack.

The solarium is clad in wood, as are the vaulted ceiling and the floor of the new restaurant, a material chosen because it recalls the finish of boats typical of Lake Como.
