Pullman Hotels & Resorts, Accor’s flagship premium brand, has introduced the Transforming Room, an innovative concept designed to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers.
This high-spec, high-tech room is a multifunctional space for working, meeting, socialising, exercising, relaxing, and sleeping—all within a single, adaptable environment.
The Transforming Room is the result of two years of extensive research into consumer behaviour and business travel needs, with plans to integrate insights from this concept into future Pullman properties, creating flexible environments for today’s dynamic travellers.
Recognising that travel is no longer just about work or leisure, Pullman designed the Transforming Room to accommodate fluid lifestyles. Located at Pullman Singapore Orchard, the concept room showcases Pullman’s commitment to innovation, enabling guests to experience first-hand the features that will shape the future of Pullman hotels. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the room can be easily adapted to personal preferences with just a few taps on an app.
“Pullman is embracing the fluidity of contemporary lifestyles, creating a softer approach to productivity,” said Benoît Racle, Global Brand President for Premium at Accor. “The Transforming Room responds to the changing needs of our guests, seamlessly shifting from work to wellness, socialising, or relaxation. This concept embodies Pullman’s vision for the future of hospitality: curated, flexible spaces that serve the evolving needs of today’s traveller.”
Transformative Technology and Design
Upon entering the Transforming Room, guests scan a QR code to access the room’s controls through an app, offering an immersive and customisable experience. The room features:
A multipurpose workspace with ample outlets, a portable lamp, and a vanity mirror
Privacy screens to create flexible room layouts
LG display technology for entertainment, fitness, and presentations
Space-saving TECE toilet with integrated bidet
Adjustable mood lighting on the bathroom mirror
Customisable Dornbracht shower technology for personalised wellness
A Murphy bed that transitions the room from sleep mode to social or work layouts
The COMPOZ parfum module, allowing guests to create a personalised playlist of scents
Synchronised lighting and scent controls for creating ideal atmospheres
Fitness modes and virtual training programmes
A patio with greenery to connect guests to the outdoors
“At Accor, we constantly push design and technology boundaries to enhance guest experiences,” said Damien Perrot, Global Chief Design, Technical Services & Innovation Officer at Accor. “The Transforming Room offers us valuable insights into how guests interact within a multifunctional space, allowing us to create environments that adapt to the diverse needs of our guests and keep Pullman at the forefront of hospitality design.”
A Multi-Sensory Journey for Rest and Revitalisation
The Transforming Room is designed to offer restorative sleep and a personalised wake-up experience. At night, guests can lower the Murphy bed and activate settings for a deep slumber: blackout curtains, sleep-inducing scents, and ambient lighting to create a calming atmosphere. In the morning, a touch of the button draws back the curtains, filling the room with daylight to naturally boost serotonin, while custom scents are adjusted for different moods throughout the day.
The Transforming Room’s app also provides access to fitness and mindfulness sessions powered by PELOTON, along with digital art by ARTPOINT. With modular interiors that create additional space, guests can enjoy yoga, fitness routines, or personalised wellness sessions guided by trainers displayed on the in-room screen.
Elevated Dining Experience
When the Murphy bed is tucked away, the Transforming Room transforms into a dining area, ideal for private dinners, celebratory gatherings, or working lunches for creative teams. This flexibility redefines the in-room dining experience, blending convenience with an intimate, tailored setting.
The Legacy of Blended Space Design at Pullman
As one of the oldest brands in hospitality, Pullman has a rich history of merging business and lifestyle, a legacy that continues with the Transforming Room. “Pullman has always been where business and lifestyle converge, a space we now call Blended Travel,” explains Racle. “The Transforming Room is the blueprint for Pullman’s future, creating transformative experiences in flexible spaces.”
Available at Pullman Singapore Orchard, the Transforming Room can be booked for work, meetings, social gatherings, and restful stays, embodying Pullman’s vision for the future of hospitality.
