Miu Miu's Upcycled Holiday 2024 Collection: A Celebration of Circular Fashion and Vintage Elegance

Since 2020, Miu Miu has been a pioneer on the circular fashion front with the release of their upcycled collections. In its 5th year, this future-facing project returns for an exclusive upcycled holiday range.

The Milanese fashion house takes its inspiration from the past, featuring garments and fabrics sourced from the 50’s and 70’s for this limited-edition range.

Miu Miu released their last upcycled collection in January 2024, focusing on denim from the pre-2000s era and using material scraps to create unique accessories for the range. World-renowned denim brand Levi’s also collaborated with Prada’s younger sister, offering classic denim pieces reinvented with a pink Miu Miu logo.

Their latest project, however, turns to the likes of vintage and archive materials to create a limited series of exquisite garments. The selection includes upcycled yarns, leather, lace and remnants from Miu Miu’s fashion archive.

Headed by Miuccia Prada’s love for vintage, each garment has been carefully selected from archive markets and re-worked by hand to create a completely unique wardrobe of designs. At the forefront of the collection is an appliquéd leather jacket - a work of art in itself. The vintage biker’s beaded floral motifs, satin lining and shearling collar are an indulgent take on a once worn-in garment, and a testament to the brand’s commitment to circular fashion.

The collection also features upcycled knits and original Scottish Kilts, reinterpreted with exquisite embroidery to lend a modernised charm to the garments. Ranging from £720 for a pair of recycled wool slippers to £16,500 for the hero-piece biker jacket, this coveted holiday collection is only available to buy on a highly-exclusive basis.

Miu Miu have taken steps towards a more conscious fashion-future, implementing blockchain technology throughout their latest holiday collection with each garment linked and registered to a scannable tag. The specialised technology system is key in recognising garment origin and material authentication, an ever-important factor for luxury consumers and heritage fashion fans alike when it comes to being in the know.

Hand-in-hand with the collection, Miu Miu’s 2024 holiday campaign introduced by British actor Emma Corin, embodies the sense of individuality and innovation the brand aims to deliver for these one-of-a-kind garments. Featuring a beautifully crafted Chantilly lace top and skirt ensemble, the campaign showcases Miu Miu’s passion to transform cherished materials into something of art.
