Diamond expert reveals the 10 most expensive British celebrity engagement rings – and the real price tags behind them

From royals to reality stars, a diamond expert has revealed the 10 most expensive engagement rings in Britain.

With Dua Lipa’s engagement ring reportedly worth £35,000, British celebrities are once again making headlines with their extravagant choices in engagement rings.

Whether it’s the rare, heirloom sapphires worn by royalty or the dazzling custom designs of reality stars, we can’t help but be captivated by these sparkling symbols of love.

With a growing interest in these show-stopping rings, diamond expert Ajay Anand from the online diamond retailer Rare carat has revealed some of the priciest pieces ever worn by British celebrities.

1. Princess Catherine of Wales – £500,000

Kate’s engagement ring, featuring a 12-carat Ceylon blue sapphire, remains one of the most iconic pieces in royal history. Surrounded by 14 smaller diamonds, all set in 18-karat white gold, this ring is not just a statement of style but also a piece of history.

Worn first by Princess Diana and passed down to Kate, it’s not just the price tag of £500,000 that makes it significant.

“Its deep blue hue is symbolic of fidelity, and it carries immense sentimental value, marking a family legacy. With its gorgeous contrast against the diamonds, it’s a design that perfectly complements Kate’s elegant and timeless style,” said the expert.

2. Molly-Mae Hague – £400,000

Influencer Molly-Mae Hague’s engagement ring is the epitome of modern luxury. The 5-carat oval diamond, set on a diamond-encrusted band, could be worth around £400,000 if it’s a natural stone.

“The elongated oval cut is elegant and contemporary, and the added diamond band gives the ring a chic, sparkling effect. This design is a perfect match for Molly’s sleek and sophisticated taste, and the price tag mirrors its lavish, yet minimalist, charm,” said the expert.

3. Pippa Middleton – £250,000

Pippa Middleton's ring is a true testament to timeless design. Featuring a 3-carat Asscher-cut diamond, this Art Deco-inspired piece stands out for its deep clarity and extraordinary sparkle.

The diamond is framed by a diamond-set band, which adds another 0.5 carats, making the total carat weight around 3.5.

4. Queen Camilla – £240,000

A piece from the Queen Mother’s collection, Queen Camilla’s engagement ring is a stunning five-carat emerald diamond surrounded by three baguette-cut diamonds on either side. Set in platinum, this ring brings together the elegance of emerald with the sleek beauty of baguette diamonds, adding up to a total of approximately 2 carats.

5. Georgia Toffolo – £200,000

Given by BrewDog founder James Watt, Georgia Toffolo’s engagement ring features a bold 4-carat marquise-cut diamond, flanked by two pear-shaped diamonds of around 1 carat each.

This stunning piece totals roughly 6 carats, and is set on a yellow gold band, creating a striking yet elegant look. The unique vintage feel of the marquise cut, combined with the delicate pear-shaped diamonds, adds up to a showstopper of a ring.

6. Amanda Holden – £200,000

Amanda Holden’s engagement ring features a brilliant oval diamond weighing between six and seven carats, set on a yellow gold band.

“What makes this piece particularly special is the hidden halo, which gives the ring an added shimmer from underneath, offering a modern twist on the classic oval diamond. Its clean and contemporary design, combined with a hefty price tag of £200,000, makes this one of the most memorable celebrity rings,” the expert said.

7. Meghan Markle – £150,000

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring is one of the most emotionally charged pieces, with a design that blends family history with a modern touch. The three-stone ring, designed by Prince Harry, features two diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection and a central diamond from Botswana.

The total carat weight is approximately 3.25, with the central diamond weighing around 2.5 carats. Set in yellow gold, Meghan’s ring is a perfect representation of love, heritage, and personal significance, all wrapped into one stunning design.

8. Katie Price – £150,000 (Carl Woods’ Ring)

Katie Price’s engagement ring from Carl Woods is a bold statement, with a large emerald-cut diamond weighing around 4 carats. Surrounded by smaller diamonds totalling approximately 0.75 carats, this platinum-set ring offers a classic yet striking aesthetic. With a price tag of £150,000, this ring exudes luxury with its sharp lines and bold design.

9. Princess Beatrice – £130,000

Designed by Shaun Leane, Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring features a central 2.5-carat round brilliant-cut diamond, surrounded by tapered baguette diamonds, making up a total of 3.5 carats. Set on a platinum pavé band, the combination of classic brilliance with the elegance of baguette diamonds results in a ring that is both traditional and sophisticated.

“Classic, stylish, and elegant, Beatrice’s ring is perhaps the perfect example of a stunning diamond ring in its simplest form,” said the expert.

10. Princess Eugenie – £120,000

Princess Eugenie’s engagement ring features a rare padparadscha sapphire, weighing around 3 carats. The unique pink and orange hues of the sapphire, surrounded by 1.5 carats of diamonds, create a captivating and one-of-a-kind piece.

“Princess Eugenie’s ring is beautifully unique and a departure from the blue sapphires seen across other royal rings, with the soft pink hue of the centre stone sitting effortlessly amongst the diamonds,” said the expert.
