Cate Blanchett Rewears Custom Louis Vuitton to Premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”

Cate Blanchett recently made headlines by re-wearing a Louis Vuitton High Jewellery design crafted from repurposed metal, pearls, and precious stones.

The piece, first seen at the Cannes Film Festival last May, beautifully highlights the actress and the luxury fashion house’s shared commitment to circular creativity. By donning this exceptional jewellery again, Blanchett reinforces the importance of sustainability in fashion, ensuring the longevity and continued appreciation of remarkable designs.

The piece was born from a close collaboration between Cate Blanchett and Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Watches and Jewelry, Francesca Amfitheatrof. Together, they revived 47 white Akoya pearls, 33 grey Tahitian pearls, and 633 diamonds from three of the Maison’s previous High Jewelry collections. This creative process reflects a dedication to sustainable luxury, showcasing how past designs can be reimagined into something both new and timeless.

The reworked necklace features metallic grey and white pearls, carefully hand-strung in a fluid line that elegantly spans across the chest and back. This graceful line is only interrupted by an Art Deco-inspired arrangement of bezel-set diamonds and enamelled pavé motifs, which adorn both shoulders. The design combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, demonstrating Louis Vuitton's ability to marry the old with the new in a way that feels fresh and relevant.

In addition to the repurposed necklace, Cate Blanchett also wore Louis Vuitton Fine Jewellery stud earrings from the Ever Blossom collection, made of white gold and diamonds. The combination of these pieces further accentuated her refined and sustainable approach to red carpet fashion.

Blanchett's choice to wear a repurposed Louis Vuitton High Jewellery design is more than just a fashion statement; it is a powerful message about the importance of sustainability and creativity in the luxury industry. By valuing the art of reimagining and recycling, both Blanchett and Louis Vuitton pave the way for a more responsible and conscious approach to fashion and jewellery.
